Maruti’s eVitara Offers 550 km Range, Fast Charging, & ADAS

Maruti Suzuki, the largest carmaker in India, is moving the electric revolution route with its first all-electric vehicle-the Maruti Suzuki eVitara. Reports and spy pics have leaked and have shown that this much-awaited vehicle, which is based on a popular grand Vitara platform, is going to be launched in mid-2026 as the company’s official EV entry. The eVitara will combine the reliability of the past with the innovation of electric technologies of the future.

The Indian EV market is becoming plentiful with manufacturers like Tata, Mahindra, and Hyundai and Maruti’s eVitara could be the product that makes electric SUVs a mass market segment in India.

Futuristic Design

The images that have leaked indicate that the eVitara keeps the tough and muscular appearance of the Grand Vitara while dropping hints of its EV styling. You can look forward to a closed front grille, continuously themed bumpers, and LED lighting with blue accents that set it apart from the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) brother.

The SUV has hidden door handles, a new tailgate with connected LED tail lamps, and 19-inch dual-tone aero alloy wheels that add up to both beauty and aerodynamics. The style of the car is essentially Maruti’s but at the same time shows that it is ready to step into an electric future.

The eVitara will promote a premium, tech-rich interior using eco-friendly materials. Interior pictures leaked show a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen floating above a digital driver display and wireless connectivity features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and an AI-powered voice assistant.

Performance: Electric Power Efficiently.

The Maruti Suzuki eVitara is expected to come with Suzuki’s Global EV platform that has been co-developed with Toyota. Initially, the SUV will have a single motor front-wheel-drive, while an AWD dual-motor variant is in the pipeline for foreign markets.
Reports suggest that the eVitara will have a battery pack of around 60 kWh, enabling a range of 500-550 km with one charge (ARAI-certified). The electric motor will have a power output of 160-180 hp and torque of 250 Nm, thus allowing rapid 0-100 km/h acceleration in about 8 seconds.
The charging will be capable of fast charging of up to 150 kW, which will allow charging from 10%-80% in just 30 minutes, in addition to a standard 7.2 kW home charger for overnight charging.

Maruti’s eVitara will be equipped with the Suzuki Connect+ system featuring smart connected technology with real-time vehicle tracking, remote climate control, OTA updates, and predictive maintenance alerts.
A unique feature that it will have is its Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, which means that you will be able to connect small equipment or gadgets using the car’s battery. Safety-wise, it will be upgraded to ADAS Level 2 which will consist of adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and emergency braking.

The Vehicle will also have different driving modes like Eco, Normal and Sport, which will give the driver the choice of performance or efficiency depending on their driving style.
